Poinsettia Tree Skirt

The plaid ribbon had wire along the edges.

No matter how many times I tried re-pinning the the ribbon I could not get it to sit flat against the felt.

The ribbon was folded in half with the felt sandwiched in between. I liked the thickness of the ribbon shown here but I could not make it work with the wire!

I cut the wire off of the edges of the ribbon, folded the ribbon in half, and then folded the ribbon in half with the felt in between and pinned everything together. I was left with just enough ribbon to make this work! However underneath the tree skirt the edges of the ribbon are frayed. I tried to glue the worst parts. 

After I made the first poinsettia flower I was was disappointed that the one I made didn't look like the flowers in the tutorial. Once I had a few and clustered some together they looked a lot better.
